How ACIDSAND Works
ACIDSAND works through two primary mechanisms that enhance gut health and feed efficiency:
Antimicrobial Action: The undissociated form of organic acids penetrates the bacterial cell membrane. Inside the cell, the acid dissociates, lowering the intracellular pH. This process disrupts bacterial enzyme systems and causes cell death. As a result, pathogenic microbes such as E. coli, Clostridium, and Salmonella are suppressed, reducing the risk of gut infections and supporting a healthy microbiota.
Enhanced Nutrient Digestibility: The acidification of the upper gastrointestinal tract (GIT) activates key digestive enzymes like pepsin and other zymogens, improving the digestion and absorption of proteins, amino acids, and minerals. It enhances the breakdown of complex nutrients and supports the development of beneficial lactic acid bacteria in young chicks, especially when administered in the first 7 days through drinking water.
