A Next Generation Pellet Binder to improve Pellet Quality
Pelleting remains a cornerstone in modern feed manufacturing — enhancing digestibility, minimizing waste, and optimizing feed conversion. However, high pellet durability is crucial to retain nutrient integrity during handling and transport. PELBOND is a natural pellet binder composed of Amylopectin and Galactomannans, sourced from guar gum, tapioca starch, and corn starch. Designed to improve pellet structure, reduce fines, and increase processing efficiency, PELBOND ensures consistent feed quality from production to consumption.
Gelatinization-Driven Binding: Under heat, pressure, and moisture during pelleting, the starches in PELBOND undergo gelatinization, a process that transforms their physicochemical properties. This forms strong crosslinked gels that tightly bind feed particles, producing structurally sound pellets.
Thermo-Stable Bond Formation: The combination of amylopectin and galactomannans promotes irreversible thermo-reactive bonding, which enhances water stability and prevents leaching or disintegration. These bonds remain intact even under extrusion conditions, maintaining pellet quality through the toughest production environments.
Enhanced Lubrication and Flow: PELBOND reduces friction in the pelleting process, minimizing wear on equipment and improving die life. It also improves moisture repellency, lowers roller slippage, and reduces die blockages — making it a highly efficient binder solution.
